Currently in development, Pass me the Self is a lecture-performance that maps the unstable boundaries between the “Self” and the “Non-Self.” Drawing an unexpected parallel between the cellular mistakes of autoimmunity, where the body misrecognizes its own tissue, and subjectivity in Lacanian psychoanalysis, artist-researchers Vana Kostayola and Vincent Barras transform clinical science into an intense territory for poetic exploration. This live, improvisational conversation thrives on phonetic friction, translation slips, mistakes and vulnerable biographical testimonies of living with autoimmune disorders.
